Free Space Bar Counter
Click the pad once so it can hear your keyboard, then mash Space. Do not hold the key: this test counts key-down events. Duration is 1, 5, or 10 seconds.

How to use the space bar counter
This is a timed Space key test. It is not the homepage clicker with Space remapped. Click the pad first so the browser sends keys here instead of scrolling the page. Then press Space as fast as you can for 1, 5, or 10 seconds.
- Pick a duration.
- Click the pad so it is focused. You should see a focus ring.
- Press Space repeatedly. Holding Space may repeat based on your OS key-repeat setting. For a fair tap test, press and release.
- Read CPS when the time ends. CPS is key-down events divided by duration.
Why this is a separate page
A space-bar speed test measures keyboard events, not mouse clicks. Mouse CPS and Space CPS are not the same number. This pad listens for the Space key only. Other keys are ignored.
If you want a mouse click speed test, use the CPS test. If you want a running tally, use the homepage clicker.
| Input | This page | CPS test page |
|---|---|---|
| Space key | Yes | No |
| Mouse / tap on the pad | Focus only | Yes, that is the input |
| Durations | 1s, 5s, 10s | 1s, 5s, 10s |
What this first version does not do
- No hold-to-turbo filter. OS key repeat can inflate a held key.
- No leaderboard.
