How to use the backspace counter

This is a timed Backspace test. Click the pad first. That keeps Backspace on this test so the browser does not treat it as Back in history. Then press Backspace for 1, 5, or 10 seconds.

  1. Pick a duration.
  2. Click the pad so it is focused.
  3. Press Backspace repeatedly until the timer ends.
  4. Read CPS (key-downs / seconds). Press New test to repeat.

Why Backspace needs its own pad

Backspace is a navigation key in some browsers when the page is not focused on a field. This pad captures the key and prevents the default action while the pad is focused. If you click outside the pad, Backspace may leave the page. Stay on the pad until the run ends.

Mouse CPS lives on the CPS test. Space lives on the space bar counter. A running tally that is not a timed test belongs on the homepage clicker.

  • No leaderboard and no uploaded scores.
